MODULE OBJECTIVES/INTENDED LEARNING
By the end of this course students should be able to:
- Understand the process of outpatient drug services self-medicating over-the-counter and limited-free medicines, as well as mandatory pharmacy medicines in accordance with the concept of pharmaceutical care
- Explain the service of prescription drugs (admission, screening, preparation,and administration) of prescription drugs in accordance with the concept of pharmaceutical care
- Describe the preparation of non sterile drugs (calculation, etiquette,and prescription copy)
- Describe the preparation of sterile drugs ( asepticconcept, reconstitution, dilution, IV admixture
CONTENT
The course will cover:
- Pharmaceutical work according to the law and Competency Standards of Indonesian Pharmacists
Dispensing cycle - Self-medicating ( over-the-counter, limited-free, OWA)
- Prescription drug services
- Inpatient services, emergency installations, and intensive care units
- Preparation of non sterile drugs
- Dosage calculation and dose conversion
- Etiquette and copy of recipes
- Preparation of sterile drugs
- Aseptic concept
- Reconstitution
- Dilution
- Intravenous mixing (IV Admixture)
- Cytotoxic handling
